"The Desert Speaks" was produced for 19 seasons, and continues to air today.

Sonora's Forgotten River

David Yetman and ecologist Alberto Búrquez trace the Rio San Miguel through Sonora, Mexico, to see how life has adapted to its flow. The trip begins in Magdalena de Kino, before heading south to the city of Cucurpe. With the assistance of resident Don Beto Cruz, Yetman surveys the local river vegetation. Further south the landscape becomes more modern as farms give way to sprawling cities.
