Ways to give
IRA Charitable Rollover
A Special Opportunity for Those 70½ Years Old and Older
You can give any amount (up to a maximum of $105,000) per year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such as Rocky Mountain PBS without having to pay income taxes on the money.
Gifts of any value, or $105,000 or less are eligible for this benefit and you can feel good knowing that you are making a difference at Rocky Mountain PBS. This popular gift option is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover, but you may also see it referred to as a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD.
For Those 59½ Years Old or Older
You can give any amount (up to a maximum of $105,000) per year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such as Rocky Mountain PBS without having to pay income taxes on the money.
How an IRA Charitable Rollover Works

Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA to RMPBS
with the following details
- Legal Name: Rocky Mountain Public Media, Inc.
- DBA Rocky Mountain PBS
- Federal Tax I.D. Number: 84-510785
- Your IRA funds will be directly transferred to our organization to help continue our important work.
- Please contact us and let us know if you would like to direct your gift for a specific purpose by emailing philanthropy@rmpbs.org or calling 303-620-5757.
The Legacy Society
The Rocky Mountain Public Media Legacy Society recognizes those who share the vision of the importance of ensuring a strong future for public media. By making a planned gift, your legacy will become a part of Rocky Mountain Public Media’s future and will serve as a permanent reminder of your generosity and love for public media for all in Colorado. You can designate your planned gift to support any of the Rocky Mountain Public Media brands, including Rocky Mountain PBS, KUVO JAZZ or THE DROP.
