It took Gudy Gaskill (1927 – 2016) over 25 years of hard work, dedication and perseverance to turn her dream of a trail over the Rocky Mountains between Denver and Durango into a reality. The trail, over 500 miles long through wilderness and high altitudes, serves as a model for other states and countries around the world.
