TONANTZIN, our mother
TONANTZIN, our mother, is a call from the heart of mother earth, emerging through our spirits through sound vibrations of 30 voices from the native world,
images and the realities that are generated in each heart when connecting with this film.
"TONANTZIN", in the "Náhuatl" language, means our mother, and it is the name we give to the loving archetype of Mother Earth,
who gives us everything, who supports our steps, and who has received tribute and veneration from our ancestors, through agricultural and fertility rituals.
Under the direction of Almeida Saavedra, who has produced films such as "IMPLACABLE, a leap of faith", "EL MAGNÍFICO",
and video clips by the artist and composer AKNA Zavi, the film "TONANTZIN" takes on a mystical meaning, revaluing connection with our mother earth,
in times when human beings plunder resources, covet water, land, while advancing in a society that is torn between materialism and superficiality,
and those peoples and beings that seek unification, understanding, circular agriculture, to forge a new landscape.
Women from all over the world are recovering this sacred reconnection, returning to give thanks for each germinated seed, for each harvested fruit,
for each sustained step, and they are lighting the sacred fires in their homes to re-illuminate with certainty and decision, those paths that history and conquests snatched from them.
"TONANTZIN" is part of the album "Mujer que vuela" (Woman who flies), of AKNA Zavi and Almeida Saavedra, which brings together native songs from nations that go from the north to the south of the entire American continent,
uniting with the blessing of the White Buffalo of peace, that language that can unite all hearts in the midst of despair: THE SACRED SONG.
