Through the experiences of diverse families, the series takes viewers on a journey through wide-ranging aspects of literacy and includes ways to access free books in a community, how to build literacy through everyday activities and more.

This activity focuses on the importance of tone in reading. The adult reads some pages of a book, changing the tone in their voice to make the text engaging. The parent invites the child to do the same. Emotions can be conveyed through tone. This helps young readers develop reading fluency and comprehension.
