Denver needs another gigantic blue animal

On the train back to baggage claim at the airport last night, Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, in a pre-recorded message, quizzed the riders about the big blue animal sculptures in Denver. The locals knew them right away: "Blue Mustang" (or Blucifer) outside the airport and "I see what you mean" (or Blue Bear) outside the Colorado Convention Center.

But the mayor's unsolicited trivia had me thinking: the city is missing another gigantic blue animal.

As Andy Warhol said, "two's a crowd, and three's a party." (I think Pitbull also said that in a song.) Two blue animals are great, but the city should lean into the rule of three and commission another sculpture.

What about a blue triceratops outside Coors Field? Or a blue bison near the Museum of Nature and Science?

Instead of another large sculpture of a large animal, what about a large sculpture of a small animal, like a pika or black-footed ferret?

I feel strongly about this, and hope city employees read this. What animal sculpture would you like to see in Denver? Let me know your ideas.
