Republican National Convention coverage concludes
PBS NewsHour will provide full coverage of the 2020 Republican National Convention, which kicks off Monday, August 24. The final day of the convention is August 27, when President Trump will deliver his speech.
Coverage of the convention will air on Rocky Mountain PBS from 6pm to 9pm each night of the convention. PBS NewsHour's Judy Woodruff will anchor the coverage with a team of reporters, analysts, and newsmaker guests.
Unlike the Democratic National Convention, the RNC will not be entirely virtual. The renomination of Trump will take place in Charlotte, but the president is planning to give his acceptance speech from the White House.
The main theme of this year's RNC is "Honoring the Great American Story." Each individual day will have its own theme as well.
According to NPR, Monday's theme was "Land of Promise." Day one featured the roll call vote to formally renominate Trump and Vice President Mike Pence for the party's ticket. Watch highlights from day one of the RNC here.
Tuesday's theme was "Land of Opportunity," and First lady Melania Trump delivered a speech from the White House. Catch up on the biggest moments from day two of the RNC here. The full broadcasts from the first and second days of the convention are available below.
On Wednesday, Pence gave a speech from Baltimore at Fort McHenry. The theme was "Land of Heroes." His full speech is available here.
Thursday—the last day of the convention—is themed "Land of Greatness." Trump will deliver his acceptance speech from the White House.
The live coverage for Thursday, August 27 starts at 4pm. Watch live:
The New York Times reports that Trump plans to make an appearance on each night of the convention. Other speakers include Sen. Tim Scott, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley. Axios reports that RNC organizers will set aside time for a "nightly surprise" during the broadcasts. Also invited to participate in the convention are Mark and Patricia McCloskey, the St. Louis couple facing felony charges for waving guns at Black Lives Matter protesters in June.
PBS NewsHour will cover the RNC on its website, YouTube page, Facebook page, and Instagram. We will update this story each day with highlights and full coverage.
