We have experienced a broadcast interruption at our transmitter site that services a large part of Central Southern Colorado. This includes the Salida region as well as the entire San Luis Valley—including Lake George, Coaldale, Del Norte and San Luis. We are actively working to assess the point of failure. Thank you for your understanding and support! Our live stream is also available online and on the RMPBS+ app.

'Healing Bells' played across the world

share

On May 21st, at noon local time, the same music was played across the world. The music of 'Healing Bells.' The music was written about the COVID-19 pandemic.

Healing is what the world needs right now.

The worldwide collaboration included the United States, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, South Africa, South Korea, and Spain.

Here in Colorado, the University of Denver carillonneur Carol Lickling Lens played 'Healing Bells.' On campus, the carillon is located high in the tower you can see from I-25. It's beautiful inside and you can clearly hear the music from the nearby lawn.

In case you're wondering, a carillon is a musical instrument typically housed in the belfry of a church or public building. It consists of at least 23 cast bronze bells, played serially to produce a melody, or together to sound a chord.
