Helping Preschoolers Learn How To Navigate The World Using Literacy

Join the adventures of the curiously charismatic 6-year-old fraternal twins, Phoebe and Jay Yarber in the new PBS KIDS animated series, “Phoebe & Jay,” which premiered this month. Created for children ages 3-5, each episode features the various kinds of texts kids see in their everyday lives − from signs and posters to labels and movie tickets – to help them understand, navigate and participate in the world around them. And, as usual, enjoy more content and activities for parents and caregivers to engage with children around what the show is teaching.

Lower Vaccination Rates, COVID-19 Child Death Prompt Information Outreach for Colorado Families

Last week, Colorado reported the first COVID-19 death of a child this viral respiratory season. According to the report from Colorado Public Radio, "the state epidemiologist said the case was in a high school-aged child in the Denver area" who died in December. Health officials have noted lower vaccination rates, especially for children, this season, the report stated.

For more information, the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment released a statement last month about evidence-based vaccine guidance and continued access for families. The Colorado Chooses Vaccines coalition also offers a resource website for families.

Show up for tomorrow. Learn about seasonal vaccines today.
