Apple Cider Mimosa

The apple cider mimosa is such a fun cocktail for the fall and winter months. It is crisp and refreshing, and contains just a couple of ingredients, which makes it perfect for a fall brunch or holiday party.

The key essentials to making a traditional mimosa:

  • Ingredients – Use one part orange juice, and one part champagne, which is about two and a half ounces each.
  • Champagne type – Purchase either a true Champagne, preferably Brut, or try to find a Cava or dry Prosecco. To be honest, though, Cava and Prosecco are less expensive options.
    • Note: There are three types of Prosecco: sparkling, semi-sparkling or still. If you use Prosecco, make sure to get sparkling.
  • Juice types – The best types of juice to include in this drink are: orange, cranberry, blood orange, grapefruit, pineapple, pomegranate or blackberry juices.
  • Fruit types – The best fruit pairings to include are: orange slices, raspberries or strawberries.

The Number of Mimosas in a Bottle of Sparkling Wine:

  • In every standard bottle (750 ml), you can make 6-8 mimosas.

Appropriate Stemware For Mimosas:

  • Since sparkling wine is involved, mimosas are traditionally served in champagne flutes, which helps to preserve the bubbles and dry taste of the wine.
  • Use classic stemmed glasses or stemless glasses.

Recipe | Apple Cider Mimosa

Ingredients

  • 1 jug Apple Cider, chilled
  • 1 (750 ml) bottle Prosecco, chilled
  • 1 Honeycrisp Apple, slices for garnish
  • Fresh Rosemary Sprigs, for garnish

Instructions

To a champagne flute, add two and a half ounces of apple cider, and two and a half ounces of prosecco and stir.

Garnish with an apple slice and one half of a rosemary sprig. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Wine: Feel free to use prosecco, champagne or other sparkling white wine.
  • Mimosa: If you want a sweeter mimosa, add a bit more apple cider. And if you want it less sweet, just add more prosecco.

Sparkling cherry lime mocktail

The sparking cherry lime mocktail is a crisp and refreshing mocktail (i.e., alcohol-free) featuring sweet, tart cherries, cherry juice, fresh lime juice and sparkling cherry lime water.

Recipe Features:

  • Loaded with lots of cherry goodness – the cherry flavor is the best part!
  • It is low-calorie and low in sugar
  • Fresh, crisp & delicious – it is perfect to enjoy all year round!

Ingredient Notes For This Sparkling Cherry Lime Mocktail:

  • Frozen Wyman’s Cherries – These cherries are dark, sweet and tart. They make for the best cherry mocktail too. Just muddle them with the lime and cherry juice before adding it to the glass.
  • Cherry Juice – To reinforce the cherry flavor, I do add some unsweetened tart cherry juice, and it makes for a more well rounded beverage.
  • Fresh Mint – I love adding fresh garnishes to my drink. The mint is sweet and provides an added boost of freshness. (The 5 oz containers from the store work great for this recipe, especially if you plan to make multiple drinks).
  • La Croix Sparkling Water – This brand is fantastic. It is a zero calorie sparkling water. And, the best part is, this water does not have a funky aftertaste like a lot of the zero sweetener drinks out there.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Wyman's Frozen Cherries (dark, sweet & red tart)
  • 1/2 Fresh Lime, freshly squeezed juice
  • 2 tbsps R. W. Knudsen Just Tart Cherry Juice, unsweetened
  • Ice
  • 1 can La Croix Cherry Lime Sparkling Water
  • Fresh Mint
  • Lime Wedge

Instructions

  1. To a large glass, add the cherries, lime juice and cherry juice and muddle slightly using a muddler, or the back of a wooden spoon.
  2. Fill the glass with crushed ice and then fill to the top with the cherry lime water.
  3. Garnish with fresh mint and a lime wedge.
  4. Enjoy right away!
