Critical funds have been stripped from public media

Dear Friends,

Congress just defunded public media in a very close vote along party lines, even though many representatives expressed bipartisan public support for our local impact and services, and millions of Americans reached out to share their support for continued funding and our legacy of generational impact on their lives.

I want to assure you that Rocky Mountain Public Media will continue to be a service for all Coloradans regardless of political beliefs or ability to financially support just as we have for nearly 70 years. At the same time, this devasting blow to our collective work here and across the country will hurt those who need us most and where there is no commercial incentive to step up and fill any gaps. We must now work together to protect what could be permanently lost in terms of public safety infrastructure, educational services to kids and families, and reliable news and information.
