Martin Luther King, Jr. 2024 Marade: Bawby Wants to Know Your Dream! / ¡Bawby quiere saber su sueño!

The RMPBS KIDS team is proud to join the 2024 Denver Marade this year to honor the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday! The organizers of the event, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Colorado Holiday Commission, are celebrating 40 years of work in 2024.

 

The third Monday of January each year we commemorate this federal and state holiday to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his legacy as a Civil Rights icon. His leadership and voice helped secure equal voting rights and demand the end of racial segregation across America. Dr. King delivered his historic "I Have a Dream" speech on August 28, 1963, on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.

El tercer lunes de enero de cada año, conmemoramos este feriado federal y estatal para celebrar al Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. y su legado como un ícono de los Derechos Civiles. Su liderazgo y voz contribuyeron a asegurar la igualdad en los derechos de voto y exigir el fin de la segregación racial en los Estados Unidos El Dr. King pronunció su histórico discurso "Yo Tengo un Sueño" el 28 de agosto de 1963, en el Monumento a Lincoln en Washington, D.C.
