Rescan your TV

Antenna viewers in Denver will need to rescan your televisions after noon on Wednesday, March 20.

Due to FCC changes in broadcast technology RMPBS will be changing frequencies. If you view us using an antenna, and live in the Denver area, you will need to rescan your television after noon on March 20.

Subscribers to cable and satellite TV do not need to take any action. Your service providers will make the change for you.

You’ll find everything you need to know about rescanning your television on this page.

Reception Issues:

KRMA-TV is undergoing major improvement work on our Denver-area transmitter. As a result, we are temporarily at transmitting at lower power and some viewers may have trouble receiving our signal. We anticipate returning to full power by May 1, at which time your signal should return to full strength.

Until then, you can attempt these changes for improving your reception:

  • For interior (rabbit ears) antennas, reposition your antenna by moving it closer to an exterior wall or window in your home.
  • For exterior (mast) antennas, try aiming the antenna towards Green Mountain, west of Lakewood.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

How to Rescan your TV

How to Rescan your TV for RMPBS

  1. Press menu on your remote

  2. Go to the channel setup option

  3. Select antenna or tuner

  4. Start a new scan

Done! Your TV will do the rest. This process usually takes a few minutes to complete.

Once your rescan is complete you will still find your favorite stations on the same channel number as before. If you have rescanning difficulties, you can usually find instructions by selecting the Set-Up or Menu button on your television or converter box remote control.

Still having issues? Consult the TV or converter box owner's manual for detailed instructions on how to run a channel scan, or contact customer service for your TV or converter box manufacturer.
