4320 Colorado Zoo Babies http://www.rmpbs.org/content/index.cfm/program/16877 en-us Familiar or exotic ... furry, feathered, or ferocious ... the thousands of creatures living in Colorado's two largest zoos are a popular attraction for people around the state. Each year, hundreds of zoo babies are born at the Denver Zoo or Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (Colorado Springs), but some of their mothers aren't able to nurture them. These babies are then entirely dependent on human "parents" - zoo professionals who are experts in hand-raising the tiny animals until they are ready to rejoin their own kind. This careful work at Colorado zoos becomes part of an international mosaic, under the American Zoo and Aquarium Association's "Species Survival Plan." Here are the stories of some very special zoo babies, who are the hope for the future of their species. This Rocky Mountain PBS original documentary is narrated by Executive Producer Cynthia Hessin. © 2009 Rocky Mountain PBS http://www.rmpbs.org/resources/files/programs/100x100/16877.jpg Colorado Zoo Babies http://www.rmpbs.org/content/index.cfm/program/16877 100 100
