4320 It's a Big Big World http://www.rmpbs.org/content/index.cfm/program/15759 en-us It's a Big, Big World takes kids into the rainforest, high atop the World Tree, home to a diverse group of animal characters. There they'll accompany Snook, an energetic giant tree sloth, and his pals - including Smooch and Winslow, rambunctious marmoset siblings, Madge, an ancient she-turtle with the map of the world on her back, and many others - on adventures and investigations of the world around them. Created in "Shadowmation," a process that combines puppetry with computer animation, puppets (some controlled by up to three puppeteers) are filmed against a blue background and then dropped into a richly colored, computer-generated world. All this is set to the beat of dance rhythms from around the world--the kind of catchy, familiar music that kids and their parents will enjoy singing along to. © 2009 Rocky Mountain PBS http://www.rmpbs.org/resources/files/programs/100x100/15759.jpg It's a Big Big World http://www.rmpbs.org/content/index.cfm/program/15759 100 100 Mon, Nov 23 - Episode #201 http://www.rmpbs.org/content/index.cfm/program/15759-201/rss http://www.rmpbs.org/content/index.cfm/program/15759-201/rss Mon, 23 Nov 09 10:30:00 -0700 Tue, Nov 24 - Episode #202 http://www.rmpbs.org/content/index.cfm/program/15759-202/rss http://www.rmpbs.org/content/index.cfm/program/15759-202/rss Tue, 24 Nov 09 10:30:00 -0700 Wed, Nov 25 - Episode #203 http://www.rmpbs.org/content/index.cfm/program/15759-203/rss http://www.rmpbs.org/content/index.cfm/program/15759-203/rss Wed, 25 Nov 09 10:30:00 -0700 Thu, Nov 26 - Episode #204 http://www.rmpbs.org/content/index.cfm/program/15759-204/rss http://www.rmpbs.org/content/index.cfm/program/15759-204/rss Thu, 26 Nov 09 10:30:00 -0700 Fri, Nov 27 - Flying Fish/Smooch and Winslow's Songbook Flying Fish - When Ick tells Wartz that there is a kind of fish that can fly, Wartz doesn't believe that can be true. But only after the ants send him a package does Bob truly see things from their point of view. Moving On Up: Fed up living with her messy brother, Smooch decides to move. Snook helps her explore all of the different habitats in the tree, but she eventually realizes there's no place like home. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES: What we see influences what we know and care about. Many animals see the world in different ways than we do, and seeing the world the way that other creatures do can help us to understand that creature. Habitats - Different creatures make their homes in different places. One creature's house may not be "home" to an animal accustomed to a different habitat. http://www.rmpbs.org/content/index.cfm/program/15759-102/rss http://www.rmpbs.org/content/index.cfm/program/15759-102/rss Thu, 10 Dec 09 10:30:00 -0700 Fri, Dec 11 - Balance/Ick Alone http://www.rmpbs.org/content/index.cfm/program/15759-103/rss http://www.rmpbs.org/content/index.cfm/program/15759-103/rss Fri, 11 Dec 09 10:30:00 -0700
