RICK
LAWSON
Joey Sellar
|
RICK
LAWSON
Rick became an actor rather late in lifewith his first
performance occurring at age 28, but he fell in love with all aspects
of live theater. Since that first performance, Rick, in addition
to acting, has become a writer, producer and director. Rick feels
that acting has its own set of challenges and rewards and notes
that each actor must find the part of himself that he shares with
a character to create a reality.
As he worked to find Joey Sellar within himself, Rick notes that
he was forced to examine aspects of Joeys personality that
were allowed to surface. Rick admits that the character of Joey
Sellar was the first character he has played that he could not find
something, anything, to like.

that he took the character of Federico all the way and
made him an extreme character. Corey also enjoyed the improvisational

Charlotte Brittany
|
PRINCESS
McCLURE
Princess
is a veteran stage actor, having appeared in her first national
tour at age 16. Since then she has appeared in countless musicals
across the country as well as several commercials. She also appeared
in the first media literacy video, TV Planet. She drew on her experience
as a model to help her better understand the Charlotte Brittany
character.

shy, without her make-up, to a diva supermodel. Princess feels that

|
BECKY
TOMA
Becky
has an extensive history in the entertainment field in the
Denver area. A graduate of Colorado Womens College, Becky
currently serves as the technical director for the Kaiser Permanente
Educational theater in addition to being a performer.
Becky enjoyed playing Myra. She felt that Myra seems to be a typical

In addition, Myra knows her limitations and trusts her advertising
agency to market her product in the best possible way. Ultimately,
Myra is swept away by the show business aspect of shooting a commercial.

GLENNA
KELLY
News Director |
GLENNA
KELLY
Glenna has an illustrious history of performance in the Denver
area. Her roles range from musicals to Shakespearean heroines
onstage and she has done a variety of instructional, promotional
and commercial films. In addition to her performance work she also
serves as the Community Service Program Coordinator at Kaiser Permanente.
This role entails organizing all of Kaiser Permanentes community
service programs, including their educational theater.
Glenna disliked her character of the News Director. She felt the
News Director was upfront about the manipulation she was perpetrating
on the audience and seemed to feel that there was nothing wrong
with that. Glenna felt that her character was superficial yet honest
about what she was doing and the purpose of news coverage being
to sell the audience to the advertisers. Glenna appreciated the
opportunity to learn for herself the real intentions and the covert
tactics used to get the audience to watch and then manipulate them
throughout the newscast. She says that she watches the news now
with a different understanding and considers herself a more literate
consumer having taken part in the video.
