FACILITATORS GUIDEHow Learners Use LearningLineHere are examples of the activities available in LearningLine and the ways learners interact with the activities. Activity 014aGreet and Introduce (Practice) Learner Interaction: When the learner clicks an activity icon, the activity appears on the screen and a voice reads the instructions that appear at the bottom of the activity. In this example, the learner will drag each question to the correct response.
Activity 151Comparison Shopping Learner Interaction: The learner adds each of the two columns of numbers and then clicks the store with the lower total. A column total appears when the learner clicks each store. Audio feedback indicates right and wrong answers.
Activity 233Finding Community Resources Learner Interaction: The learner drags each of the three activities to the appropriate building. Audio and written feedback indicate corrct answers.
Activity 321Understanding the Nutrition Pyramid Learner Interaction: For each meal, the learner drags one item from the left column into the blank in the list of foods. If the learner selects in incorrect item, it returns to its origianl location. When the learner drags the correct food into a blank, the food stays in the blank and audio feedback confirms the correct answer.
Activity 412How To Get a Job Learner Interaction: After reading (or listening to) the words of the interviewee, the learner clicks words or phrases in the paragraph that show poor performance in the job interview. Correct choices are highlighted, and audio confirms each correct answer. If the learner clicks an incorrect answer, audio says "Try again." Learners who prefer to listen to the paragraph can do so by clicking the Listen to Paragraph button.
Further Activities Most activities conclude with Further Activities, a page of assignments that ask learners to visit Web pages for additional information and to use the LearningLine word processor to write about the material covered in the activities.
