FACILITATORS GUIDEHow to Install LearningLineFrom the LearningLine home page, click the LearningLine Software link.
On the LearningLine Software page that appears, you will see a small green button that says Play.
Clicking Play will run an animated demonstration of how to download and install the LearningLine software. Watching the entire demonstration will help ensure proper installation of the software. After the demonstration ends, click the link Click here to download the LearningLine software.
A File Download window will appear. Click Save.
A Save As window will appear. Click Save, and the installation software will be saved to your desktop.
After you click Save, a File Download window appears. The green progress bar shows the speed of the download, which may take a few seconds or a few minutes, depending on your computer's Internet connection speed.
When the download is complete, the icon below will appear on your desktop. Before continuing with the installation, you must close all applications running on your computer. Now you can install LearningLine. Double-click the icon on your desktop to begin this process. You will see a series of screens guiding you through the installation process. Ignore security warnings and select all default settings (such as Run, Yes, Next.) To complete the installation, close the File Manager window by clicking the X in the red box at upper right. (See figure below.) Then click Finish.
Once you finish this process, LearningLine will be installed, and you will see icons for two new software applications on your computer desktop: LearningLine Home Page and LearningLine Word Processor. Double-click these icons to open the corresponding LearningLine applications. Once you are sure you can run the LearningLine applications, it is okay to delete the installation program from your desktop. Right-click the icon below and select Delete from the list of options. Now that you have installed LearningLine on your computer, please read the Software: Instructions for First-Time Use section of this Facilitators Guide. |
