According to the United Nations, there are an estimated 250,000 children fighting in wars around the world today. Innocent children from Africa to Asia are being swept into armed conflict, torn from their families, drugged and coerced into becoming soldiers and sex slaves. It astonishes me that in this day and age, children continue to be exploited and their human rights, so heavily violated. http://www.rmpbs.org/panorama/index.cfm/entry/271/rss http://www.rmpbs.org/panorama/index.cfm/entry/271/rss Tue, 29 Jul 08 09:52:00 -0700 Are we alone in the universe? Close your eyes and picture an alien. Is it green? Is it jetting across the sky in a silver dish? As it turns out, today's science is a little stranger and a lot more compelling than yesterday's science fiction. http://www.rmpbs.org/panorama/index.cfm/entry/265/rss http://www.rmpbs.org/panorama/index.cfm/entry/265/rss Tue, 22 Jul 08 10:27:00 -0700 What would the world be like without PBS? I find it hard to even imagine. Ever since I was a kid, PBS has opened my mind and my heart to a world of ideas. Watching "Nature" with my dad every Sunday night, taking in opera and dance performances on PBS with my mom - these were some of the best times we shared amid hectic schedules and long commutes. http://www.rmpbs.org/panorama/index.cfm/entry/259/rss http://www.rmpbs.org/panorama/index.cfm/entry/259/rss Tue, 15 Jul 08 09:40:00 -0700 Ready to have your assumptions challenged? Once in a while, a program comes along that challenges my beliefs and assumptions in a profound way. U.S.-Mexico border security is an issue that has formed some pretty strong opinions on both sides, but to those living and working on the border, the lines have become blurred. http://www.rmpbs.org/panorama/index.cfm/entry/256/rss http://www.rmpbs.org/panorama/index.cfm/entry/256/rss Tue, 08 Jul 08 13:51:00 -0700 $4 a gallon has fueled new thinking on energy and paper consumption Look around any office or home, and it's easy to spot: mounds of paper that are piled so high they look like mini skyscrapers. It'll be years before we go totally paperless, but there are things we all can do to reduce our paper consumption. Maybe it's because gas is reaching more than $4 a gallon, but it seems like people are finally making changes, and here at Rocky Mountain PBS, we're no different. Starting with the July issue of our monthly program guide, we are taking steps to reduce our paper trail and are now offering an electronic version of Promo. Download July's issue today at rmpbs.org/promo, and tell us what you think. http://www.rmpbs.org/panorama/index.cfm/entry/254/rss http://www.rmpbs.org/panorama/index.cfm/entry/254/rss Tue, 01 Jul 08 09:22:00 -0700 New E-news design: What do you think? You can't please all the people all the time, but we do try! This week, we're excited to unveil our new E-news design. We're constantly trying to make E-news easier to read and use, and parts of this re-design are based on your suggestions. http://www.rmpbs.org/panorama/index.cfm/entry/162/rss http://www.rmpbs.org/panorama/index.cfm/entry/162/rss Tue, 15 Jan 08 14:30:00 -0700
