David C. Wilhelm wrote Fly Boy, an account of his experiences as an Ace fighter pilot during World War II. His service in the Army Air Corps took him from Morocco and Algeria to combat missions over Europe.

A native Englishwoman and member of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force, Barbara Saks spent WWII working in Intelligence at Bletchley Park, the United Kingdom's main top-secret codebreaking establishment. During the Blitz, German pilots bombed her house, leaving only a skeleton frame. Barbara came to America in 1946 to be with her husband.
