What we don't need from the panelists is either partisanship or "name calling" such as did Ms. Weist in using the term "loony left". One could respond that she is part of the "rabid right". Nothing is ever accomplished by ad hominem attacks. If they wish to discuss issues, then discuss the issues, but do it intelligently. As far as I am concerned, any more such incidents and I will not only stop watching the show but stop my donations to public broadcasting.

The Surge is unsustainable without a draft.

What fantasyland these right wing surge nuts are living is beyond me,
they must be drinking Bush's kool-aid.

I guess to be on the rabid right you have to be math challenged & completely callous to human beings, so psychotically pathological about getting gas in your SUV no matter how much human blood & suffering is in it.

These are the same people who lost track of 9 billion plus dollars in Iraq,
have passed 30,000 or more weapons into the hands of insurgents & al qaeda by not keeping accounting of them,
These are the same wicked people who left troops without armor for their persons or vehicles,
these are the same wicked people who left wounded troops quartered with rats,

to them it is all some kind of abstraction of veiled american imperialism,
human beings are some distant icons, rather than real flesh & blood,
which one of these proponents of further, unsustainable surge have volunteered because the mission is so crucial?

NONE.

These are the worst kind of hypocrites operating on superstition who could never manage to pass remedial math.

Maybe these are some of the 41% of americans who still think Saddam's Iraq was involved in 911.

Shame on you America for allowing ignorance to shield your wicked irresponsible imperialism.

Sadly it does no good for these or any Americans,
It only helps Bechtel, Halliburton, Blackwater & big corrupt oil companies.

Our founding fathers would be so ashamed of these psychotic corporate shills.

Last night one of the panelists was so incorrect in her statements that I was insulted. At one point I thought that she might have been planted in the group to stir debate. Unfortunately, none of the other members ever challenged her false assertions. She repeatedly claimed that the surge is working in Iraq. Of course, anyone following the events there knows that the violence is as bad if not worse in than ever. She stuck to the far right wing party line in all of her comments, yet there was no one present who was able to counter her ridiculous and obviously wrong statements. Why are you unable to find a panelist to represent what is, after all, the majority of Americans and Coloradoans who oppose this war and the far right? The bias of your panel rendered the discussion silly. Even Republicans who suppotted Bush's elective aggression are now understanding that it was wrong from the start and should end as soon as possible. What I don't understand is why your program is unable or unwilling to find people to express the obvious facts.

During the closing minutes of this discussion several panelists talked about Iranian activity in Iraq. The general consensus seemed to be that Iran was instigating violence and supplying arms, etc. These assertions are exactly what the far right is trying to promote in an uninformed and lazy public. This is reminiscent of the lies about WMD that got us into this war in the first place. Please, people, learn the truth before you make reckless statements. In order to understand the truth about this you MUST go to resources outside the US and outside the Republican party. Even the Washington Post ran a story with the headline: British Find No Evidence Of Arms Traffic From Iran. Do some research before you buy into the idea of blaming and/or attacking another country. And please, just for your own education, question the "facts" fed to you by Fox News and the like. Look to other sources. We don't need to continue down this path of aggression and mis-guided "patriotism".

If last night's program was supposed to represent the "Colorado State of Mind," then one must conclude that Coloradans are nearly unanimous in their support for the current American policy concerning the American occupation of Iraq. But the unchallenged and unsupported assertions of what appear quite plainly to be three conservatives and one moderate conservative certainly do not represent the opinions of average Coloradans in any way.

For example, evidence is easily found that the improvement in Anbar cannot be attributed to the US military. After five years of unsuccessful operations in Anbar, the US military's agreements with Sunni tribal leaders in Anbar represents an acknowledgment that it was dependent on the very Sunni insurgents it once considered the enemy in Iraq to reduce al-Qaeda influence in the province. In other words, the success in Anbar is not from the so-called surge, but from leaving the Iraqis in Anbar to themselves! Yet this assertion went unchallenged by the host or anyone else on the program.

In the future, I will get the "Colorado State of Mind" directly from everyday Coloradans - people who generally can tell fact from the fictons depicted by the distorted views of your television program.

Sorry, but Cynthia Hessin has done this before. This was a horrible discussion of the opinions of Coloradans and Cynthia passively allowed it to proceed. She has done this before, the moderator's role has got to be to challenge when things are so partisan and unsubstantiated. Look for a new sub.
