Election Day is finally here. Resolution and relief are just around the corner. The political ads will soon be put to an end.
I can't remember a time when I was more excited by politics. It feels good to have exercised my civic duty with such conviction.
Many people I know are volunteering and driving people to the polls. Some are voting for the first time. I urge each of you – of every political stripe – to get out there and vote. Our democracy depends on it. As if you need any more motivation, Starbucks is giving away free cups of coffee to voters.
Tonight starting at 7, Jim Lehrer and the "NewsHour" team bring you complete
election night coverage. Sure, the other networks – with the possible exception of the Food Network – will be following the election. But you can count on PBS to bring you the real-deal, no frills coverage and analysis you know you can trust.
And, near the top of each hour between 7 and 10 p.m., Cynthia Hessin, executive producer and fellow blogger, will be reporting the results on the 14 ballot measures and eight Colorado Congressional races.
Following our special "NewsHour" coverage, tune in for BBC World News at 10:30 p.m. (that is, if the election is over by then!) and watch the world's take on the election.
So what's your electoral vote prediction? Will it be a close call? Think we'll have a decision by the end of the evening?
And what do you think our president-elect's first order of business will and should be?
