Video blogs on the conventions
posted Tuesday, September 2, 2008 3:21 p.m.
Rocky Mountain PBS is presenting video blog reports on the national party conventions in conjunction with TheUptake.org – a non-profit citizen journalism organization. See two video reports from last week's Democratic National Convention in Denver, and stay tuned for reports from this week's Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn. Video 1: Inside the DNC Protests
Recreate 68 is one of the controversially-named progressive groups organizing demonstrations and other activities at the 2008 DNC in Denver. The UpTake's Chuck Olsen interviews one of the group's founders, Mark Cohen, and documents the first big protest of the DNC. The theme was, "End the Occupation."
Video 2: John Legend: Obama Gets Hip Hop
Singer John Legend explains how Obama reached out to him before his candidacy announcement and how Obama "gets" his generation.
Corrine McDermid, The UpTake, for Rocky Mountain PBS.

I was so proud of the DNC and Denver! It is time for a change in our country for GOOD--not the same old mess that we've had for the last eight years. McCain chose his vp to once again try to hoodwink the American people into thinking he's something he is not. He's been in Washington too long to try and sell us that he's the one who can bring change FROM Washington! Obama said it the best, "Change must come TO Washington not FROM Washington." He's right!
