Greg and Panel,
What makes something newsworthy? Honestly, it depends upon the quality (perception and experience) of the reporting. Is something newsworthy because it is a first for Denver or Colorado. I don't think that is the answer. The story isn't that it is about Denver and the protestors. The biggest event is the selection of the Vice President I agree Greg. But it is simply to get some good reporters in there to find out what is going on. I(My grandfather was the A.g for Colorado 1911. He joined Theodore Roosevelt on the Progressive Ticket. They both lost of course. But Colorado is not without its political history. I object, by the way to Senator McCain's alliance with Roosevelt. Roosevelt's party was about resources and democracy, and not letting Corporations take over control of the U.S. Still the biggest danger. Grandpa was Benjamin Griffith, former Professor of Law at DU, etc.)

The voice of the people can be news and should be covered. Besides if the media is visible maybe the police will behave, although in L.A. they attacked the media, too.
