Wendel P. Torres of Colorado Springs Elected To Rocky Mountain PBS Board of Trustees

Wendel P. Torres of Colorado Springs has been elected to the Board of Trustees of Rocky Mountain PBS. His term runs to July 2008.

Torres is president of Torix General Contractors, LLC of Colorado Springs, which until December 2005 was named Alliance General Contractors, LLC.  Torix provides design-build services for commercial and federal construction projects nationwide, primarily for the U.S. Department of Defense.  In 2005, Torix had gross sales of approximately $85 million.

Torres was born at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York.  His family moved to Colorado Springs in 1967.  Currently, he also serves as president and board member of the Children?s Literacy Center and as a board member of Goodwill Industries of Colorado Springs.  His past affiliations have included the American Heart Association board and the City of Colorado Springs Fire Board of Appeals.

The Rocky Mountain PBS Board of Trustees is a governing body representing communities across Colorado. The Board's Executive Council includes Chairman Dean R. Ericson, President James N. Morgese, Vice Chairman Kyle H. Hybl, Secretary Marilyn E. Taylor and Treasurer Philip E. Hilvitz.
