FNBR partners with Rocky Mountain PBS' KRMJ to offer Ready to Learn workshops
Rocky Mountain PBS is proud to announce its partnership with First National Bank of the Rockies (FNBR) to promote Ready To Learn, a PBS-sponsored service that teaches adults to help build children's learning skills. Free Ready to Learn workshops give participants tools and information they can use immediately with children. The workshops are geared toward anyone who has an interest in a child's education.
The bank will help promote and facilitate Ready to Learn workshops on the Western Slope. Bank staff will provide workshop materials in their lobbies, volunteer to read at schools and libraries, hold workshops at bank offices, and conduct monthly activities related to Ready to Learn goals.
First National Bank of the Rockies Chairman, President & CEO Pete Waller, a longtime supporter of Rocky Mountain PBS programming such as "Super School News," says that promoting Ready to Learn is another way to show the bank's commitment to Rocky Mountain PBS' education efforts. "I consider this a unique opportunity for First National Bank of the Rockies to take a positive and proactive role in helping shape the future of our communities by promoting Ready To Learn," Waller said.
Ready To Learn was created in the early 1990s as a national effort to ensure that all children enter school with the skills they need to learn. Rocky Mountain PBS has expanded the service to include a variety of resources, including more than eight hours of children's programs each weekday, online learning materials and free workshops focusing on topics such as critical viewing, anger management and literacy.
