Tonight's airing of "Marie Antoinette" has been removed from the Rocky Mountain PBS schedule. While this historical documentary is of high quality and integrity, we learned at the last minute that it contains material some viewers could find objectionable. Because of this, we, along with many other PBS stations, are being forced to remove it for fear of being fined by the FCC.
The material in question is presented tastefully and in a historical context, but current FCC guidelines for prime time programs are stricter than ever. We feel it would be a waste of Rocky Mountain PBS resources to incur a fine when the program can be rescheduled at a time slot after 10 p.m.. Please stay tuned to rmpbs.org and future issues of "Promo" magazine for information about a new air date and time for "Marie Antoinette."
Thank you for your interest in this program and for supporting Rocky Mountain PBS.
