David Skaggs Elected to Rocky Mountain PBS Board of Directors

David SkaggsDavid Skaggs was recently elected to serve on the board of directors for Rocky Mountain PBS, Colorado's statewide television network. Skaggs is executive director of the Center for Democracy & Citizenship Program at the Council for Excellence in Government in Washington, D.C. He is also of counsel to the Washington-based law firm Hogan and Hartson and has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado. These positions follow David's twelve years of service in Congress (1987-1999), representing Colorado's 2nd Congressional District, and three terms in the Colorado House, the last two terms as minority leader.

During his tenure in Washington, David was a leader in efforts to improve the House of Representatives, helping start the House Bipartisan Retreat, and founding the Constitutional Forum with Representative Jim Leach. He serves on the boards of trustees of the U.S. Association of Former Members of Congress and of Demos (an organization working on democratic participation and economic equity issues), on the public affairs advisory council of the Advertising Council, as a fellow of the Center of Congressional and Presidential Studies at American University, on the advisory board of the Campaign Legal Center, and on the steering committee of the East West Parliamentary Practice Project.

The Rocky Mountain PBS Board of Trustees is a governing body representing communities across Colorado. The Board's Executive Council includes Chairman Dean R. Ericson, President James N. Morgese, Vice Chairman Landri Taylor, Secretary Marilyn E. Taylor and Treasurer Philip E. Hilvitz.
