Foodies are loyal viewers and good friends of Rocky Mountain PBS – especially when they get a chance to meet their favorite PBS chefs in person!

On August 11, 2006, local foodie fans were able to meet and greet beloved public television chefs Lidia Bastianich, Rick Bayless and Nick Stellino at a "Meet the Chefs of PBS" gala. The exclusive event was held at Pismo Fine Art Glass in Denver's Cherry Creek North. The master of ceremonies was Kristen Brownin-Bias, former food editor for the Denver Post. The event kicked off the 2006 Third Annual Cherry Creek North Gourmet Series.

Sponsored by Rocky Mountain PBS in celebration of their 50th anniversary (2006), the reception featured great wine and scrumptious hors d'oeuvres prepared by the chefs. The evening also included a question-and-answer session with the chefs plus a cookbook signing.

The famous chefs appeared that weekend in the studios of Rocky Mountain PBS to the delight of the Rocky Mountain PBS Cooks Club members who enjoyed tasty samples of the chefs' on-air cooking demonstrations. Additionally, studio guests had the opportunity to buy autographed cookbooks and have their photograph taken with their favorite chefs!
