Patch and Connie play at finding the things different animals have in common. Patch is like the wolf, with their brown fur and pointy noses. Tortoises and snails move slowly, and carry their houses on their backs.  

 

PLAYING WITH STONES 

When Patch slips on a stone, he decides theyâ??re useless things. But Belinda the goat shows him theyâ??re not. Sam the rabbitâ??s house is very strong because itâ??s made of them; Nibble the squirrel breaks open acorns on hard rocks, and Timmy the bear likes to scratch his back on them.  

 

THE ADVENTUROUS ANT 

Tom the ant usually spends his time working and playing with his friends from the nest. But one day he decides to go out and play without his friends for a change. While heâ??s out, he meets Connie, and they explore places Tom has never seen before.
