Saved By the Sun
"Nova" examines problems and possible solutions to global warming in the new program, "Saved By the Sun." For decades, hopes for alleviating global warming have fallen to the development of "renewable" energies like wind and solar power. These are energy producers that do not use coal, gas or other carbon-based fuels that are the main reason our planet's surface is warming a little bit more every year. The most promising renewable has always been solar power. However, even with decades of solar power research, scientists still don't know if it's a reliable source of electricity.
