Motherland Afghanistan
One in seven Afghan women currently dies in childbirth. Afghan-American filmmaker Sedika Mojadidi introduces the women behind these devastating statistics and examines her father's work as an OB/GYN as he struggles to make a difference, first at Kabul's recently renamed Laura Bush Maternity Ward and then in an isolated provincial hospital, where patients often travel for several days to get treatment.
