Clouds
Clouds can spark your imagination on a summer day, bring life giving rains, and are the most visible forms of our everyday weather. But what causes clouds to form? Why are there clouds over the mountains more often than over the plains? And just what are those fluffy things made of? In this episode of "Everyday Science", Brian Jones from Colorado State Universityâ??s Little Shop of Physics answers these and many other questions about clouds. With the help of Brianâ??s young scientists, see cool experiments that demonstrate how and why clouds form, how they exchange heat in the atmosphere, why they are white and why they form in some places and not in others. Also, we visit CSU Atmospheric Scientist Scott Denning and go back in time to learn about the 19th century scientist, Luke Howard, who first started classifying clouds by their distinct forms and appearances. Clouds are coolâ?¦oh yeah
