Series Info & Airtimes

Rolling "Rolling" views the world from the seat of a wheelchair, a place where getting dressed, opening a door or navigating a sidewalk requires significant time and effort. In the documentary, three Californians in wheelchairs shoot "video diaries" which capture their struggles and triumphs over a two-year period: overcoming obstacles, dealing with difficult situations and interacting with well-meaning families and friends. Galen Buckwalter, Vicki Elman and Ernie Wallengren use specially modified cameras to record 200 hours of their most intimate, private and sometimes humorous everyday experiences. Each compelling story demystifies and normalizes the experience of wheelchair users, offering a glimpse into the realities of being wheelchair-bound in a culture that values independence.
