Helen confides to Laura that she thinks she is expecting a baby, but she has not yet told Phil. She wants to go out for a celebration dinner that evening, but Laura is not sure whether Mike will join them for dinner as he has been feeling cramped in Laura's small flat and has been absent for a few days. However Mike does arrive at the restaurant for dinner and announces that he has good news: his business is going much better and he has money to spend. He tells Laura that he has seen a big flat that he likes, and that he wants to use his spare cash to buy the flat with her and live there with her. Laura misunderstands him and announces to Phil and Helen that Mike has just proposed.
