It has been 50 years since the first successful organ transplant took place; a process that has touched so many lives. In this film, we take a look at the entire history of human organ transplant; from the earliest attempts at transplant, the many failures and ground-breaking discoveries, to the undying hopes, clear vision and the dedicated medical pioneers who turned something "impossible" into an everyday event. We follow two present day stories - a wife and mother in desperate need of a liver transplant, and a young girl in need of a new heart - and along the way hear from doctors, support personnel, the patients themselves and their family members, how the last 50 years has made this 'science of miracles' possible.
