Dating from the time of Christ, the Moche, a civilization on what is now the Northern coast of Peru, created great buildings and beautiful art. Their metal work and jewelry were extraordinary and they have been called "the Greeks of the Andean culture." But what became of them has always been a mystery. After 650 years of glory, they simply disappeared. "Horizon: Lost Civilization of Peru" combines CSI, forensics and earth science to reveal the what caused the Moche to die out. But out of disaster, it seems the Moche may have spawned an even greater empire: the Incas.
