Justine revels at a festival on Trinidad, visits a former sugar plantation and takes in a goat race on Tobago, and samples souse, a regional aphrodisiac from Grenada. She sails to Carriacou for a Shakespeare festival, hikes through the enormous rainforest in Dominica and swims with exotic fish near the Soufriere volcano. Justine returns to Trinidad, where she witnesses the giant leatherback turtle lay her eggs on the beach.
