Ian travels to Antananarivo, the capital, where he learns about the unique culture of the Malagasy and takes in a hira gasy performance combining song, dance and acrobatics. He catches sight of a golden bamboo lemur in Ranomafana National Park, observes zebu wrestling in Ihosy, encounters sharks in the waters of Ifaty and wreck-dives off Isle Sainte Marie, a tropical island that centuries ago was the only buccaneer kingdom in the world.
