Who has the man that was Cat Stevens become? "Yusuf Islam - A Few Good Songs" celebrates the former Cat Stevens' return to the music industry and the release of his first album almost 30 years after abandoning his superstar status. Yusuf Islam is one of the U.K.'s most celebrated artists. As Cat Stevens, he achieved international success in both the '60s and '70s with such major hits as "Moonshadow" and "Peace Train." But in 1977, Stevens embraced Islam, adopted the name Yusuf Islam and took a break from music, devoting his energies to improving education. His hiatus lasted 28 years! This intriguing film reveals the reasons behind Islam's departure from music and chronicles the his spiritual journey. Vintage performance clips intertwine with the narrative to capture poignant moments, including when Islam picks up his guitar and flawlessly begins to play and sing.
