Ian's journey begins in the town of Eagle on the banks of the Yukon River, home to the Athabascan natives who live on salmon in the summer and moose in the winter. Traveling to the town of Chicken (population 25), which has no running water, electricity or telephones, he goes gold dredging in the Fortymile River. In Homer, Ian goes sky trekking in a Cessna 185 and watches grizzly bears catching salmon in waterfalls.
