Intrusive Igneous Rocks
This program looked at what igneous rocks tell geologists about the Earth's development. Magma, or liquid rock, fills in spaces between rocks, and heats them. By looking at what type of crystals form in the rock, scientists can determine the temperatures to which the rock has been exposed and thus develop a time line of the rock's develpment. Mafic and Felsic minerals, and where they are found in rock, are another indication.
