Composition and Inverse Functions
Continuing with a discussion of functions, this program covers inverse and composite functions. A composite function takes a function, f(x), and uses it as the range for another function: g(f(x)). An inverse function maps the domain back onto the range. These techniques can be used when more than one variable is operating. The example used in the program is in scuba diving, where the amount of gas in human blood is related to external pressure, which in turn is a function of the diver's depth.
