Quadratic Equations
This episode deals with quadratic equations. Quadratic equations taxe the form of ax2+bx+c. They can be solved by two methods: completing the square, and the quadratic formula. Quadratic equations are useful for problems in which there is a quantity to be maximized. The example used is of finding the proper amount of lime to counteract the effects of acid rain in a lake.
