Viewers should be aware that Dr. Amen's claims and clinical practices regarding SPECT imaging have been received with much skepticism among the pertinent scientific community. Crucial data regarding error rates, such as sensitivity, specificty, positive and negative predictive value, remian unknown for SPECT across most neuropsychaitric disorders. For the other side of the story, viewers should check out...

Another PBS Infomercial. Sickening. I support public TV and I support the use of taxpayer dollars to support public TV, but if they keep running these infomercials, I will stop contributing and will write my elected officials to urge that taxpayer funding cease, too.

I have read his book and found it to be very encouraging and practical. If you are unable to purchase this book, check your local library. I have found many of his books available there. As I ahve been ready and learning I am finding that the media is about 5 years behind what is being discussed. There are four in our family with ADD. Myself being one and his books is changing my life and helping to keep me from wasting time and money on Doctors that are not proactive. I only have one lifetime and I want it to be the best possible.

I SAW Dr Amen on PBS and am very impressed.
Certainly hope many, many, many people with
some of the symptoms he discussed will also
hear his message and get help for their lives.
As pills have fallen far short of the answer for those many.

Is there a way to watch this online or on DVD? I don't have cable TV.
I really like Dr. Amen's books. He uses drugs in his practice very responsibly compared to most. I'm not a fan of mind-altering drugs and most doctors are quite reckless with prescriptions that lead to further damage. I'm glad he mentions alternatives that are widely accepted by doctors in other countries in his Magnificent Mind book. Diet would be a further help.
If it's been disputed on Quackwatch you can rest assured it's got to be good! Thanks for mentioning that H!
Maria, Our library has quite a few of his books but there's always a very long wait list.
