The forties! Perhaps the most turbulent decade of the twentieth century. Maybe even the most dynamic for Denver as the city went instantly from Depression to World War II; which brought the greatest influx of people to Denver since the gold rush. Denverites were quick to support the war effort by such things as rationing, War Bond Drives and city-wide black out drills. Veterans returning after the war brought new ideas and new energy to Denver. Growth and prosperity followed and Denver boomed. There Was a Time features original music performed by the Joe Peterson Orchestra.
