This program is based on the life of Isabella Mary Beeton, author of "Mrs. Beeton's Book of Household Management" and the most famous cookbook author in British history. The name Mrs. Beeton may conjure up the image of a starchy, middle-aged matron, but Isabella Beeton was in fact an accomplished business woman who died at 28.

"The Secret Life of Mrs Beeton" traces her transformation from young wife, to magazine journalist, to publishing phenomenon.
