Rocky Mountain Legacy
Home on the Prairie
In 1862, the Homestead Act opened a vast grassland between the Missouri River and the Rockies. Homesteaders found hardship, sorrow, love, and laughter in the nearly uninhabitable "last frontier" that stretched across Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Colorado. Stories told by those whose roots are deep in America's Heartland.
