"And God took a handful of southerly wind, blew His breath over it, and created the horse." This Bedouin legend immortalizes Colorado's most noble and useful animal. Journey with Spirit of Colorado, into our own Horse Country.
Near the city of Craig, witness the dramatic roundup and auction of the Sandwash wild horse herd. See the birth of quarter horse foals in Somerset, and ride with teenage equestrians from the Westernaires as they ready their best friends for competition. Meet inmates from the Canon City Horse Breaking Program who gently break wild horses for public adoption. Finally, saddle up for a horse packing adventure through the golden autumn and deep snow of Routt National Forest.
