Spirit of Colorado
Taking the Waters
Water has always been the lifestream of the west. As Colorado's most valued resource, it's no surprise that water plays so many roles in the lives of so many people. Some use it for recreation, like boating on Grand Lake or rafting through Royal Gorge. Others use it to support their livelihood, like the owners of the Waterwheel Ranch, Bridal Veil Power station, and the Colorado Alligator Farm. And taking the waters for therapy and relaxation is a custom that has endured since the times of the Ute Indians.
